Raised beneath Montana's endless skies, surrounded by majestic mountains, forests, ranches, and the spirit of the American West, Rowan Black discovered his passion for music at an early age. He grew up in a close-knit family with two brothers and a beloved sister. The loss of his sister at a young age became one of the defining moments of his life, deepening the emotional connection that can be heard in many of his songs. Her memory continues to inspire his music and reminds him that every moment with the people we love is precious.

Church services, country music, and classical masterpieces shaped his musical journey from childhood.

After graduating from high school, Rowan decided to pursue his passion professionally. He studied at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where he focused on Vocal Performance, Songwriting, Music Theory, Composition, Arranging, and Music Production. During his years at Berklee, he developed a signature style that combines technical excellence with heartfelt emotion.

Although his roots are deeply planted in Country Music, Rowan soon discovered a profound love for Gospel, Country Gospel, and Classical Music. The power of choirs, sacred compositions, and symphonic works inspired him just as much as the honest storytelling found in traditional country songs. These influences have shaped a unique musical style that blends orchestral grandeur with acoustic warmth and an unmistakable voice.

Today, Rowan Black creates music that speaks directly to the heart. His songs tell stories of faith, hope, love, freedom, loss, healing, and the simple moments that make life meaningful. Whether performing an intimate piano ballad, an inspiring Gospel anthem, a heartfelt Country love song, or an epic orchestral composition, his mission remains the same:
